Crystal Clear, By Franklin L Cary and Philip King
Hoghton Village Hall, 6th-8th April 2006

The play has a cast of six including some familiar Hoghton Players faces and some guests from surrounding drama groups such as CADOS.

Crystal Clear is set in the 1940s in the front room of Jane Ann Shore's newsagents.

On the eve of the anniversary of her husband Sam's mysterious watery death, after a strange visitation she calls upon the local clairvoyant Mrs Cronely to help "put him back".

A harridan by nature, Jane is determined to marry her son Craig off to the daughter of another newsagent whilst he is secretly in love with assistant Penny Matthews.

Penny is equally determined to marry him and so they recruit the very reluctant Willie Wilkinson, Sam's guilt-ridden friend, in their plot.
